Alexandre Silverio — Quest Investimentos (São Paulo)
Panel: “Investment Picks”
Partner and manager of the equity portfolios with Quest Investimentos. Formerly, Alexandre Silverio was head of equities at J Safra Asset Management (2011); head of equities at Santander Asset Management (from 2003 to 2007) — part of a team managing R$ 35 billion — and, subsequently, its CIO (from 2007 to 2011), responsible for the management of the equity portfolios and for the equity share of the multimercado portfolios — AUM of R$ 65 billion — also heading the public company analysis team; partner with GAP Asset Management (from 1999 to 2003), co-responsible for managing its equity portfolios and, later on, responsible for the long-short strategy. Alexandre Silverio started his career at Fleming Graphus Asset Management (from 1995 to 1999), where he was responsible for managerial and risk analyses and, later on, equity trading. He graduated in Production Engineering from PUC-RJ.


Cassiano Leme — Constância Investimentos (São Paulo)
Panel: “Investment Picks”
Founder of Constância Investimentos and manager of Constância Ações FIA. Formerly, Cassiano Leme was CFO with T4F Entretenimento S.A. (from 2007 to 2008); CFO with Medial Saúde S.A. (from 2006 to 2007), having participated in its IPO and subsequent acquisitions; an executive with Darby Overseas Investments, a private equity firm specialized in emerging markets and part of the Franklin Templeton group (from 2005 to 2006); managing-partner with Mídia Investimentos, a private equity firm that invested in Brazil for Deustche Bank Private Equity (from 2001 to 2004). Cassiano Leme started his career working from 1992 to 2000 at J.P. Morgan & Co. in New York and São Paulo, predominantly as a manager of the private equity division and partner of Latin America Capital Partners, a private equity fund of $700 million. He graduated from Fundação Getulio Vargas in São Paulo and received his MBA with honors from Columbia University in New York.


Gabriel Reginatto — Investidor Profissional (Rio de Janeiro)
Panel: “Investment Picks”
Member of Investidor Profissional’s Brazilian equities and long-only strategy team (IP Participações), responsible for the Retail and Consumer Goods sectors. Before joining IP in 2007, Gabriel Reginatto worked as an international equities analyst at Banco BBM. Formerly, he worked at Coca-Cola Company’s logistics and distribution division. He graduated in Production Engineering from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro.


Leonardo Messer — Oceana Investimentos (Rio de Janeiro)
Lecture: “Value Investing in Brasil: Theory and Practice”
Portfolio manager at Oceana Investimentos. Before joining Oceana, Leonardo Messer was a partner with Meta Asset Management (from 2006 to 2008), responsible for managing its equity and long-short funds. He was a partner with Investidor Profissional Gestora de Recursos (IP), having worked for four years in equity-portfolio management and equity analysis (from 2002 to 2006). Formerly, he worked at Banco Pactual (from 1999 to 2002). Leonardo Messer graduated in Production Engineering from PUC-RJ.


Mauricio Levi — FAMA Investimentos (São Paulo)
Lecture: “Macroeconomic Factors and Their Impact on Companies”
Founding partner with FAMA Investimentos, an independent investment management firm founded in 1993 that focuses on small-cap stocks and private equity and currently manages about R$ 1.4 billion, predominantly from universities, pension funds, and insurance companies. FAMA’s most traditional fund — Futurewatch — has a return of 34% per year compounded for more than 16 years. Mauricio Levi is responsible for fund management, macroeconomics, and politics analysis. A member of the Board of Directors of Portobello S/A and Rodobens Negócios Imobiliários, he graduated in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from Fundação Getulio Vargas.


Renato Feder — Multilaser (São Paulo)
Lecture: “The Multilaser Trajectory: Strategy, Growth, and Profitability”
Renato Feder is co-CEO and one of the founding capitalist partners of Multilaser, a leading Brazilian distributor of electronic products (currently with more than 1,200 items in its catalog) such as tablets, mobile phones, GPS, pen drives, and computer accessories. Also a manufacturer of some of its main products, and with more than 1,300 employees, Multilaser reached R$ 350 million in sales in 2010 and is on its way to reaching R$ 550 million in sales in 2011 — having been growing at about 30% per year for the last 8 years. Renato Feder graduated in Business Administration from Fundação Getulio Vargas and has a Master’s Degree in Economics from USP. He has been a professor in the postgraduate Business Administration program at Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie (São Paulo) and co-authored, along with his partner, the book “Carregando o Elefante” — on Brazilian economics and politics.


Sergio Fontana dos Reis — Set Investimentos (São Paulo)
Panel: “Investment Picks”
Founding-partner with Set Investimentos, portfolio manager registered with the Comissão de Valores Mobiliários (CVM), and fundamentalist investor for more than 15 years. Sergio Fontana dos Reis was in the Board of Directors of Sadia for 15 years. He was CIO and President of Fundação Attílio Fontana, a Brazilian pension fund. He graduated in Architecture and Urbanism from Universidade de São Paulo.
