Breno Guerbatin — Studio Investimentos (Brazil)
Opening Lecture: “Brazil Update and Current Investment Case”
Mr. Guerbatin is a member of Studio Investimentos’ Investment Committee and co-portfolio manager of Studio FIC FIA, which returned 67.4% since its inception, at the end of 2009 (until mid-April 2015), contrasting with a loss for the Ibovespa Index of 20.6% during the same period. In 2009, Mr. Guerbatin was a manager with TV Globo. From 2008 to 2009, he was an equity analyst and a member of the Managing Committee of BNY Mellon ARX. From 2005 to 2008, he was a partner and the Investment Officer of Brazil Energy, a private-equity boutique focused on energy and infrastructure. From 2002 to 2005, he was an investment analyst and a fund manager at Opportunity Asset Management. Mr. Guerbatin graduated in Production Engineering from UFRJ and has a postgraduate Degree in Corporate Law from FGV-RJ.


Efrain M. Chavez — INCA Investments (United States)
Lecture: “Investment Cases in Latin America” [2 cases]
Mr. Chavez is Portfolio Manager with INCA Investments covering the Materials and Industrials sectors. Prior to joining INCA in 2012, Mr. Chavez worked for four years as an equity analyst at Artha Capital Management, covering Latin American markets. Prior to Artha, Mr. Chavez worked for seven years as a sell side analyst for Goldman Sachs, covering Latin American markets. Mr. Chavez holds a Bachelors Degree in Finance from Florida State University.


Gabriel Andrade — Opus Gestão de Recursos (Brazil)
Lecture: “Thinking Out of the Box: Contrarian Investment Opportunities in Brazilian Distressed Real Estate and Debt Markets”
Mr. Andrade is a partner with Opus Gestão de Recursos and co-manager of its distressed debt strategy. (Locally in Brazil and globally, Opus manages more than R$ 2 billion in investment funds, financial markets, real estate and distressed debt.) Mr. Andrade has 15 years of experience in financial markets, mostly dedicated to stressed assets, having worked with private equity at CVC/Opportunity Equity Partners and having headed financial consulting on distressed assets at Arsenal Investimentos. Mr. Andrade graduated in Law from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.


Leonardo Deeke Boguszewski — JMalucelli Investimentos (Brazil)
Lecture: “Current Investment Case” [Brazilian case]
CEO at JMalucelli Investimentos, where he helped create both equity funds managed by the company, focusing on dividends and small caps. From June 2008 to March 2015, their gains were 54.5% and 43.2%, contrasting with a 21.3% loss for the Ibovespa Index during the same period. In 2012, Mr. Boguszewski worked at the mergers and acquisitions department at UBS Investment Bank in New York. Since April of 2014, he has been a member of Eternit’s Board of Directors. Mr. Boguszewski graduated in Economics from FAE Business School and holds an MBA, with distinction, from New York University Stern School of Business, where he also earned the designations Beta Gamma Sigma and Stern Scholar.


Sergio Fontana dos Reis — Set Investimentos (Brazil)
Lecture: “ ‘Red’ and ‘Blue’ Latin America and Brazil”
Mr. Reis is founding partner with Set Investimentos, portfolio manager registered with the Comissão de Valores Mobiliários (CVM - Brazil’s SEC), and value investor for more than 15 years. Mr. Reis was in the Board of Directors of Sadia for 15 years. He was CIO and President of Fundação Attílio Fontana, a Brazilian pension fund. He graduated in Architecture and Urbanism from Universidade de São Paulo.
