Breno Guerbatin — Studio Investimentos
Lecture: “Redecard and Brazilian Equity Markets — A Case Study”
Member of Studio Investimentos’ Investment Committee and co-portfolio manager of Studio FIC FIA, which returned 43.3% since inception, at the end of 2009, contrasting with a loss for the Ibovespa Index of 4.9% during the same period. In 2009, Breno Guerbatin was a manager with TV Globo. From 2008 to 2009, he was an equity analyst and member of the Managing Committee of BNY Mellon ARX. From 2005 to 2008, he was partner and Investment Officer of Brazil Energy, a private-equity boutique focused on energy and infrastructure. From 2002 to 2005, he was an investment analyst and a fund manager at Opportunity Asset Management. Breno Guerbatin graduated in Production Engineering from UFRJ and has a postgraduate Degree in Corporate Law from FGV-RJ.


Bruno Barreto — Investidor Profissional
Lecture: “Foreign Equity Investments and Long-Short in Brazil”
Partner and member of IP’s Executive and Investment Committees, Bruno Barreto is in the team that manages the Brazilian-equity portfolio with the long-only strategy and portfolio manager of the long/short strategy since 2008. He joined IP in 2004 and has worked in several areas, including company analysis and trading. Before that, Bruno Barreto worked at the trading desk at Ágora Senior. He graduated in Economics from Instituto Brasileiro de Mercado de Capitais do Rio de Janeiro (IBMEC-RJ).


Eduardo Rezende — Jardim Botânico Investimentos
Lecture: “Portfolio Construction”
Partner and equity-portfolio manager at Jardim Botânico Investimentos (JBI) since 2005. From 1998 to 2005, he was CIO and senior manager at Mellon Global Investments Brazil. From 1996 to 1998, he was investment analyst and manager of the equity and external debt portfolios of offshore fund Sagitta. From 1992 to 1996, he was corporate finance analyst, equity-portfolio manager, and fixed-income and derivatives trader with Banco Icatu. Eduardo Rezende graduated in Business Economics from the University of California (1992) and in Law from UniverCidade (2010) and has degrees in Corporate Law from FGV (2001) and in Production Engineering and Finance from PUC-RJ (2002). Founded in May 2003, JBI is an independent asset management firm that, in 2007, sponsored the publication in Brazil of Benjamin Graham’s “The Intelligent Investor”.


Flavio Sznajder — Bogari Capital
Panel: “Investment Picks”
Founding partner with Bogari Capital and manager of Bogari Value FIA, an equity fund that obtained from November 2006 (still as a Brazilian investment club) until December 2011 gains of 928% — which contrast with the 42% return of the Ibovespa during the same period. Formerly, Flavio Sznajder was member of the Finance Committee with Telemar Participações, Investment Officer with Andrade Gutierrez Telecomunicações, member of the Investment Committee with infrastructure fund AG-Angra, member of the Board of Directors with TG Agro ethanol plant, member of the Board of Directors with Pegasus Telecom and senior associate with Booz-Allen & Hamilton and Gradus Management Consultant. He received an MSc in Business Administration from Coppead-UFRJ and a B.S. in Engineering from PUC-RJ. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Contax Participações.


Luiz Chrysostomo de Oliveira Filho — NEO Investimentos
Lecture: “Macro View: Risks and Opportunities”
Partner with NEO Investimentos. Before that, Luiz Chrysostomo was a partner with Investment Banks Cindam and Patrimônio (1993-1998), as head of the Corporate Finance and Investment Banking departments. Among the many transactions he participated in was the 1998 privatization of Sistema Telebras (US$ 20 billion) where he was the General Coordinator of the syndicate hired by the Brazilian government. With the sale of Banco Patrimonio to Chase Manhattan, and the subsequent merger of the latter to JPMorgan, Luiz Chrysostomo became Managing Director for both institution’s Investment Banking departments in Brazil (1999-2005). Between 1990 and 1992 he worked at the National Social Development Bank (BNDES) as head of the Privatization Department, having participated in the structuring and organization of the first major privatizations in Brazil in the 1990s. Currently, Luiz Chrysostomo is a Partner and Board Member of Instituto de Estudos de Política Econômica – Casa das Garças, Vice President of the Ethics Council of ANBIMA, President of the Regulation Council of the Best Practices of Funds FIP / FIEE – ANBIMA / ABVCAP, and Board Member of several companies. Luiz Chrysostomo graduated in Economics from PUC-RJ, received his Master’s in Economics from the same university, and has a postgraduate degree in Business Administration from Wharton. He is author and co-author of articles and books on Capital Market and Corporate Finance.


Rodrigo Magela — Oceana Investimentos
Panel: “Investment Picks”
Portfolio manager with Oceana Investimentos. Before joining Oceana, Rodrigo Magela was equity analyst and member of the Equity Portfolio Management Committee of Arx Capital Management (2004-2008). Before that, he worked for seven years as equity analyst at Banco Pactual (1997-2004), when he received several awards from the specialized media, such as Latin Finance and Institutional Investor Brasil, in recognition of his work with institutional clients in the aviation and telecommunication sectors. Rodrigo Magela is currently a member of the Audit Committee with Estácio Participações, having also been a member of the Audit Committee with Cremer S.A. in 2008 and Lojas Renner S.A. in 2007. He graduated in Economics at Wichita State University (USA).


Rodrigo Pantoja — Edge Investimentos
Panel: “Investment Picks”
Analyst and partner with Edge Investimentos, an independent asset management firm focusing on stock funds that are actively managed using the value approach. Before joining Edge, Rodrigo Pantoja was an analyst with York Asset Management. He has a degree in Economics from FGV-RJ.
