Alexandre Sabanai — Perfin Investimentos (São Paulo)
Panel: “Investment Picks”
Alexandre Sabanai is partner with Perfin Investimentos, where he co-manages investment funds and is responsible for research. Between 2006 and 2011, he was a partner with RXZ Investimentos, where he structured the firm’s equity division as its head of research and as co-manager of its equity fund. Between 2005 and 2006, he was a telecom analyst at Unibanco’s brokerage, having been ranked runner-up All-Brazil Research Team by Institutional Investor; moreover, he was Unibanco’s analyst in charge of the Cosan IPO. He started his career in 2001 at BankBoston Asset Management’s equity division, where he worked at the trading desk, managed arbitrage strategies, and performed fundamental analysis of public companies — in 2002, 2003, and 2004, he was a member of the team elected by Exame magazine as best equity-fund manager. Alexandre Sabanai graduated in Business Administration from Fundação Getulio Vargas (EAESP).


André Gordon — GTI Administração de Recursos (São Paulo)
Lecture: “Between Switzerland and Venezuela: Brazil Currently”
Founding partner with GTI Administração de Recursos, an independent investment management company focusing on Brazil’s stock market. During his more than 22 years of experience in financial markets, André Gordon has worked at the trading desks of several renowned financial institutions, including Banco Itaú BBA, Banco Pátria, Santander and Banco Bozano, Simonsen. He is a member of AMEC’s Audit and Technical Committees and holds a master’s degree in Economics from EPGE/FGV-RJ and an Economics degree from FEA/USP.


Bernardo Lobão — Studio Investimentos (Rio de Janeiro)
Lecture: “Brazil: Establishing a New Equilibrium Point”
Member of Studio Investimentos’ Investment Committee. Between 2001 and 2009, Bernardo Lobão was an equity analyst and a member of the Management Committee at ARX Capital/BNY Mellon ARX. During the same period, he was a Member of the Audit Committees of Iochpe Maxion and of Bematech. Bernardo Lobão graduated in Economics from IBMEC-RJ and has a postgraduate Degree in Corporate Law from FGV-RJ.


Cassiano Leme — Constância Investimentos (São Paulo)
Lecture: “A Long-Short Strategy in Brazil”
Partner and co-portfolio manager at Constância NP. Formerly, Cassiano Leme was CFO with T4F Entretenimento S.A. (from 2007 to 2008); CFO with Medial Saúde S.A. (from 2006 to 2007), having participated in its IPO and subsequent acquisitions; an executive with Darby Overseas Investments, a private equity firm specialized in emerging markets and part of the Franklin Templeton group (from 2005 to 2006); managing-partner with Mídia Investimentos, a private equity firm that invested in Brazil for Deustche Bank Private Equity (from 2001 to 2004). Cassiano Leme started his career working from 1992 to 2000 at J.P. Morgan & Co. in New York and São Paulo, predominantly as a manager of the private equity division and partner of Latin America Capital Partners, a private equity fund of $700 million. He graduated from Fundação Getulio Vargas in São Paulo and received his MBA with honors from Columbia University in New York.


Daniel Grozdea — STK Capital (Rio de Janeiro)
Lecture: “Global Stocks: Three Investment Picks”
Partner with STK Capital responsible for its global strategy. Formerly, Daniel Grozdea was an equity analyst covering the G7 in two New York hedge funds — Focus Capital and North Sea (currently 3G Capital). He has 17 years of experience in financial markets, initially as an analyst and later on as a manager of global assets. Daniel Grozdea graduated in Business Administration from Hofstra University in Nova York (1997) and has an MBA from Babson College in Massachusetts (2003).


Felipe Andrioli — Verde Asset Management (São Paulo)
Panel: “Investment Picks”
Investment analyst with Verde Asset Management’s long-only and long-biased strategies and member of Fundo Verde’s Brazilian equities team. Felipe Andrioli started his career in 2007, at Credit Suisse Hedging-Griffo (now Verde Asset). He graduated in Electrical Engineering from Unicamp and in Production Engineering from Ecole Centrale Paris.


Gustavo Dalcin Ballvé — Edge Investimentos (Rio de Janeiro)
Lecture: “Investment Case in Brazil”
Partner of Edge Investimentos since 2012, responsible for equity research. Previously, he was a partner of Investidor Profissional (IP), with which he had worked since 2001. Gustavo Ballvé has more than 14 years of equity-research experience. He holds a degree in Engineering from PUC-RJ and has attended the Program for Leadership Development at Harvard Business School.


Luis Felipe Adaime — Newfoundland (São Paulo)
Lecture: “Investment Picks in Latin America”
Partner with Newfoundland Capital Management and manager of the Newfoundland Armadillo Fund. Formerly, Luis Adaime was managing director of York Capital Management, responsible for its investment management and analysis with regards to Latin America. Before that, he was a partner with BRZ Investimentos, where he managed the BRZ Fundamental fund and was analyst of small caps and of companies in the commodities, electric utilities, aerospace and infrastructure sectors. He was also a partner with Bresser Asset Management and an analyst at the Latin America proprietary equities desk at Credit Suisse, where he started his career as an analyst of financial institutions. Luis Felipe Adaime graduated in Production Engineering, with focus on Economics, from Stanford University, having graduated cum laude from Phillips Academy.


Sergio Fontana dos Reis — Set Investimentos (São Paulo)
Panel: “Investment Picks”
Founding-partner with Set Investimentos, portfolio manager registered with the Comissão de Valores Mobiliários (CVM), and fundamentalist investor for more than 16 years. Sergio Fontana dos Reis was in the Board of Directors of Sadia for 15 years. He was CIO and President of Fundação Attílio Fontana, a Brazilian pension fund. He graduated in Architecture and Urbanism from Universidade de São Paulo.
