Alexandre Marques Cruz — Jive Asset Management (São Paulo)
Lecture: “Distressed-Asset Investing in Brazil”
Founding partner with Jive Asset Management, a firm with more than R$ 800 million in AUM which manages structured funds focusing on distressed assets, “multimercado” funds [Brazilian regulated funds with a broad asset-class mandate] focusing on liquid assets and real estate funds. Alexandre Cruz started to acquire non-performing credits from clients while at NeoIntelligence (“NEO”), a company which he also founded and which performed controlling, accounting, and financial back-office services to corporate clients in the Brazilian market. Formerly, he worked for four years with Corporate Finance at Ernst & Young and Santander. Alexandre Cruz holds an Economics degree from USP, a Law degree from PUC-SP and an MBA from FGV-SP.

André Gordon — GTI Administração de Recursos (São Paulo)
Opening Lecture: “Brazil 2017: Bull Case and Potential Risks”
Founding partner with GTI Administração de Recursos, an independent investment management company focusing on Brazil’s stock market. During his more than 23 years of experience in financial markets, André Gordon has worked at the trading desks of several renowned financial institutions, including Banco Itaú BBA, Banco Pátria, Santander and Banco Bozano, Simonsen. He is a member of AMEC’s Audit and Technical Committees and holds a master’s degree in Economics from EPGE/FGV-RJ and an Economics degree from FEA/USP.

Felipe Andrioli — Verde Asset Management (São Paulo)
Panel: “Investment Picks”
Investment analyst with Verde Asset Management’s long-only and long-biased strategies and member of Fundo Verde’s Brazilian equities team. Felipe Andrioli started his career in 2007, at Credit Suisse Hedging-Griffo (now Verde Asset). He graduated in Electrical Engineering from Unicamp and in Production Engineering from Ecole Centrale Paris.

Henrique Teixeira Alvares — NEO Investimentos (São Paulo)
Lecture: “Constructive Activism”
Founding partner with NEO Investimentos and member of its Executive and Private Equity Investing Committees. Henrique Alvares lead the private equity division of NEO Investimentos since the firm’s inception in 2003, until he became leader of its holdings division, in 2012. He started his career at Citibank in 1988. In 1994, he became an M&A associate with Banco Patrimônio and, in 1997, he became coordinator of the bank’s capital markets division. In 1999, after the acquisition of Banco Patrimônio by Chase Manhattan, he additionally became the head of structured-loan issuance and of securitization in Brazil. Henrique Alvarez is a member of the Board of Directors of Livraria Cultura S.A., of Marelli Móveis Corporativos S.A., and of CVC S.A., as well as member of ANBIMA’s Board of Regulation and Best Practices for Investment Funds. He graduated in Economics from the Faculdade de Economia e Administração at Universidade de São Paulo (USP).

Julio de Morais Erse — Constância Investimentos (São Paulo)
Lecture: “Derivatives Investing in Brazil”
Partner with Constância Investimentos, Julio Erse has more than 20 years of experience in derivatives strategies, including hedging, arbitrage and volatility carry investment programs. He founded NP Investimentos — which recently merged with Constância Investimentos — where he managed the long & short and volatility strategies. Julio Erse is also the founder of Nitor Investimentos — which was acquired by Banco BANIF — and was a member of the management team responsible for R$ 1 billion in investment funds and hedge funds at BANIF NITOR. Formerly, he was responsible for proprietary trading of derivatives at UBS in Brazil and head of equity derivatives trading for Deutsche Bank in Brazil. Julio Erse holds a B.A. in Business Administration from PUC-SP.

Luis Felipe Amaral — Equitas (São Paulo)
Panel: “Investment Picks”
Head of fund management and member of the Investment Committee at Equitas Investimentos. Luis Felipe Amaral has been Equitas’ managing director since the firm’s inception, having initially worked at its Corporate Finance and Private Equity divisions. From 2001 to 2003, he worked at Lehman Brothers, in New York, with the structuring of leveraged buyout operations in various U.S. sectors. Between 1996 and 1997, he was a research analyst at Banco Crédit Agricole Indosuez, responsible for the Utilities, Auto Parts, Fertilizers, and Capital Goods sectors. From 1995 to 1996, he was a consultant at Accenture. Luis Felipe Amaral was a member of the Board of Directors of Tecnisa S.A. from 2014 to 2016. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Escola de Engenharia Mauá and an MBA, with honors, from The University of Chicago.

Marc Sauerman — JMalucelli Investimentos (Curitiba)
Panel: “Investment Picks”
Marc Sauerman is CIO of JMalucelli Investimentos, a value-focused investment management firm with more than R$ 2.5 billion under management. Before joining JMalucelli, his career included risk-control and other finance-related roles at HSBC Brazil. In Belgium, he worked with Corporate Finance at Ernst & Young and at Artesia Banking Corp. Mr. Sauerman holds a Commercial Engineering degree from Solvay Business School, in Brussels.

Rafael Cota Maciel — AF Invest (Belo Horizonte)
Lecture: “Autopsy of a — Fast and Profitable — Investment ”
Manager of equity funds at AF Invest (Araújo Fontes). Between 2011 and 2015, he was co-responsible for investment analysis and equity fund management at Impacto Investimentos. Rafael Cota Maciel teaches Capital Markets with an emphasis on Value Investing at Centro Universitário UNA. He graduated in Board Directorship (third class of IBGC-MG), has been a Board Member (2014 to 2016) and President of the Financial Committee (2016) of Apimec-MG. Rafael Cota Maciel graduated in Social Communication with an emphasis in Publicity and Marketing from UNI-BH, has an MBA in Finance from IBMEC–MG and has a postgraduate degree in Capital Markets and Derivatives from PUC–MG.

Wagner Faccini Salaverry — Quantitas (Porto Alegre)
Lecture: “Once Companies Are Chosen, How to Structure the Portfolio?”
Partner with Quantitas Participações SA and head of equity portfolio management at Quantitas Gestão de Recursos SA. Wagner Salaverry has more than 17 years of experience in financial and capital markets. Formerly, the managed the investment analysis team at Geração Futuro Corretora de Valores, having become a partner and managing director of the group’s controlling company in 2005. He has also been partner and managing director of Geração Futuro Banco de Investimentos, Geração Futuro Corretora de Valores and Geração Administração de Recursos, of which he was also the responsible person for managed investments under CVM [Brazil’s SEC-equivalent]. Wagner Salaverry is a portfolio manager and an investment analyst authorized with CVM and certified by Anbima. He graduated in Business Administration, with a focus in Finance, from UFRGS.
